Sea Turtle Ecology is about very special creatures in the sea.

Course description:

Did you know how many more species of sea turtles there are? And how they differ? After reading the first chapter you will know.

Most people know that turtles lay eggs. But how does this happen exactly? And how does egg laying and incubation work?

Did you know that there are thousands of kilometres between the feeding and breeding grounds of leatherback turtles? Learn interesting facts about swimming and migration of these sea dwellers.

What makes up life in the sea? When do sea turtles become adults?

What threatens these fascinating sea creatures and what can we do to protect them?

Post-course credentials:

The course concludes with SSI Sea Turtle Ecology certification, which counts towards the Advanced Open Water recognition level or further experience levels. 24 logged dives and 4 specialty courses and you will reach the level of SSI Advanced Open Water Divers.

After the course, you will have learned many interesting facts about the interrelationships of the sea and understand more about its inhabitants.

Process

Theory: The Ecology courses are digital-only trainings. Once you have worked through the course and taken the final test, we will certify you as a Sea Turtle Ecology Specialist.
